For once we had one same off day.
Would have been hell lots better if we had both off days the same.
But yeah, I'm not complaining.
The one solid day spent together was f-a-n-t-a-b-u-l-o-u-s.
*BIG GRIN*
.
Day could not have started any better.
The skies were clear and the sun was shining strong.
Fat Ninja had promised me a day by the lake.
So off to Zurich Lake we headed.
.
Not that we had a pinic basket prepared or were dressed in our beach wear.
It was just intended that we take a stroll by the lake.
.
.
We didn't manage to walk more than 200 meters from where we got down from the tram.
The fats in the Ninja were screaming for help.
He had Plan A all prepared.
Kept the copy of 20minuten with him when he got down the tram.
I had thought he wanted to use it to sit on.
Next thing I know, he was trying to convince me to catch a movie.
Flipping through the movie section.
Profusely describing to me how comfortable sitting in a air conditioned cinema would be.
If only he were this serious when studying.
.
.
Obviously he was not successful in brainwashing me.
And to give him his share of the trip, I suggested window shopping so that we would be out of the sun.
Took the tram back to the busy town.
.
.
What may seem like a normal day out to you,
was a f-a-n-t-a-b-u-l-o-u-s day to me.
Why?
We talked.
Alot.
Knew each other better.
Understood each other more.
Made plans.
And despite the less than 200 meters walk by the lake,
I was not unhappy.
Because I know that he had put aside his dislike for doing random things like, walking by the lake, for me.
Yes, I would be happier if it had been longer and more ROMANTIC (haha).
But guess what.
He made it up by being the bestest an egoistic boyfriend can be....
Walking around carrying TAMPONS in a transparent plastic bag.
.
.
After that day, it was back to work for me.
Just the other day, I did a wedding function.
Although there was like only 9 to 10 tables, it was a beautiful affair.
The room had the most gorgeous view of Zurich and Zurich Lake.
When dusk fell, the candlelights provided the most romantic ambience.
The jazz band gave more than pleasure to the ears,
it created the perfect atmosphere.
Amidst the constant eating and drinking, love can be felt throughout the room.
.
Somehow, I feel more for this kind of intimate and small weddings than the large and grand traditional chinese weddings in Singapore.
Its amazing how much traditions can differ between Asian and European countries.
Not only weddings, even how the people behave can differ so greatly.
.
I was working in the Taverne today.
A little more classy as it is indoors.
A very elderly couple came in for dinner tonight.
Both old enough for me to say 70s.
They had to use glasses to read.
I had to speak very slowly and clearly.
On top of which, I'd have to be right beside them for them to be able to hear me.
I had imagined it to be a normal dinner for them.
But the old man ordered Rose wine.
I served it to them, thinking that they'd have the wine and their meal in silence.
The first time they picked up the wine glasses,
they 'clinked' glasses with each other and smiled.
During the meal, I refilled the glasses.
They then picked up their glasses once again.
Like a little game they play,
they 'clinked' glasses once again.
But this time round saying something to each other,
and 'clinking' it 2 times in a row.
Afterwhich, both looked and each other and laughed.
Just when I thought that it would be the end of their little game,
they picked up their freshly refilled glasses,
and 'clinked' glasses 3 times in a row.
Both looked at each other and smiled again.
It was their little game.
Something only the 2 of them know.
But it was so sweet.
How warming it was watching them dine.
.
I wish I would be lucky enough, to live such a romantic life, even when I'm old.
